A Powerful Spiritual Journey - Interview with Rev. Rhonda Schienle
Rev. Linda: Greetings, Rev. Rhonda! I am so thrilled to have this opportunity to interview you for our blog. To start, could you tell us a little about how you came to be an Interfaith minister?
Thank you Rev. Linda for this delightful interview. There are many fellow Ministers who have shared with me that becoming ordained was not in their plans at all. I understand the sentiments.
I feel it is divinely placed and spiritually led. While going through the Holistic programs at my school, one of those being a Master of Science in Holistic Ministries, I wasn’t sure how I was going to utilize this degree, but I had faith in the guidance of spirit.
At the time, I was working in traditional medicine as a Medical Assistant, EKG Tech, then onto Massage Therapy, Massage Instructor and then became a Reiki Master. From the combination of these trainings, I incorporated both the Eastern and Western philosophies into my work and spiritual practices.
I began noticing the bridging of science and spirituality during my studies. Then, it was not at all a far-fetched concept to notice how the underpinnings of the different faith traditions have many commonalities. The further into my studies of various faiths, clearly demonstrated how “Inter-Connected” we are. About 7 years after my Master of Science in Holistic Ministries, with some life altering experiences, I was called back to Seminary and become ordained as an Interfaith Minister.
Rev. Linda: I recently had the opportunity to read your book, As Above, So Below and found so much information that resonated with my life experiences. I also learned how much I didn’t know about astrology. How did you get involved and trained in this science?
Rev. Rhonda: A fun story to this question! I have always had the need to understand how everything works in the world. That includes the Universal laws and the Cosmos. I have enjoyed astrology but never found one that truly fit my senses. One day my husband heard this astrologer on the radio while driving. He said “You need to listen to this guy” I have a feeling you will like what he says. After having a reading by him and learning he teaches this method of ”Divine Astrology”, I just knew instinctively I was going to learn it. I became certified in 1999 and have since written 2 books. Now I am celebrating my 20 years as an AstroPsychologist.
Rev. Linda: You have a BS in Metaphysics and a Master of Science in Holistic Ministries. Could you tell us a little about how this has informed what you do and how you do it?
Rev. Rhonda: Truth be told, I love education and am a professional student. I look back now and see the passions I have had for traditional medicine, holistic health, natural laws and self-empowerment. To study these and utilize them in everyday life is a gift and blessing. This was the very knowledge I needed to heal myself through cancer. In addition, it was preparing me for my spiritual work as I am doing now. This wisdom is helpful to every day life.
Rev. Linda: When did you first know that you were being called to ministry? How did it happen?
Rev. Rhonda: As I look back over my almost 55 years, the path to Ministry was there all along. It took life experiences, education and my professional settings to come together for me to see it. In 2007, I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. I also had a Near Death Experience while fighting cancer. Thankfully my own education, training, helped me in my healing process. This was one of the most powerful life experiences that fully moved me into my Ministry. I am blessed to be of service.
Rev. Linda: You have an event coming up on December 8, Intention Circle 2020. Please tell us about this. What compelled you to host such an event? What is it that you hope people will get from attending?
Rev. Rhonda: I have enjoyed facilitating my spiritual laws, theories and practices group for many years. About 3 years ago, I hosted this exact event and it was phenomenal. It was a powerful way to learn how to set your intentions and goals in a way that brings them into fruition. It is interactive and there are a couple of short exercises that are highly informative about yourself. I would hope people experience self-discovery and how to use the tips being offered to attain their desires. Spiritual Laws, Theories and Practices
Rev. Linda: Do you have a ministry off the web? What do you do and where do you do it?
Rev. Rhonda: In Northwest Indiana, I do have my own Ministry, “Interfaith Ministry Services, LLC. Currently I am doing weddings, baby blessings and celebrations of life. In addition, I work with those who are going through cancer and treatment after my personal experience and extended training from the Cancer Treatment Center of America “Cancer Care Ministry”.
Rev. Linda: As we head into the holiday season, as an Interfaith/Interspiritual minister, what message would you like to share with those reading the blog today?
Rev. Rhonda: Live in the moment and cherish it to the fullest. May your holidays be filled with love, joy and good health.
