The Spiritual Mentoring Certificate Program is especially designed for those wanting to cultivate the inner presence and skills necessary for offering mentoring to those in need. This program is open to ordained clergy, seminarians in training, as well as to mental health counselors and other helping professionals who may desire to incorporate a spiritual focus into their practice. If you are interested in this program but do not find yourself in one of the above categories, please contact us to discuss your particular situation and, together, we can assess the appropriateness of this program for you.

  • Define and describe spiritual mentoring
  • Name and explain three basic skills used in spiritual mentoring
  • Demonstrate the use of expressive therapies and spiritual practices for mentoring

Circle Leadership Training

Meetings: 3 Wednesday Meetings
Dates: July 31st, 2019 through August 14th, 2019
Time: 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm CST
Format: Live Online
Audience: Everyone
Description: “Women’s circles form one at a time. Each circle expands the experience of being in one to more women. Each woman in every circle who is changed by it takes this experience into her world of relationships. Until, on one fine day, a new circle will form, and it will be the millionth circle – the one that tips the scales – and brings us into the post-patriarchal human era.”
~ Jean Shinoda Bolen

We have become a world of people who believe all of us are separate and disconnected from one another, including the natural world. Sacred circles can make a difference in the world, moving us from separation to connection. If we participate and practice the guidelines of a circle or sacred group the ripple effect is put into play. We create a momentum - connect to one another in a deeper way, lead a more meaningful life and then make a difference – first to our families, then to friends. The world changes as a result. Humanity benefits from the release of fear and separation, and moves toward hope, oneness and love.
It is time for circles to expand and tip those scales. My diverse and extensive training in circle participation and leadership for eighteen years has led me to offer this training for others so that circles can continue to unfold, like each ripple on a pond that waves and ebbs out to the edge. We can build and expand the circles to invite the flow of transformation in an unending energetic pond of wise women AND men, as we practice new paradigm leadership skills of compassion, respect, acceptance and love.

Who can take this training? It is not necessary to have any experience or a particular background. The information and techniques can be used by coaches, ministers, therapists, healers, group leaders, community activists, board members, people who volunteer, those who want to increase their communication skills, women who find that people share easily with them… any person who has an open heart.
Goals: This training will provide:
  • Forming the Circle – who, what, when, where, why
  • Opening and Closing Ideas
  • Rituals and Ceremony
  • Intention, Purpose and Outcomes
  • Guidelines and Challenges
  • Experiential Offerings and Exercises
  • Marketing Tools
  • Time for questions and answers at the end of each session
Other: Cost includes the course and training manual in PDF form.
Calls will be recorded if you miss one.
Bio: Christine Moses is a Holistic Counselor, Shamanic Practitioner, and Ceremonialist, specializing in facilitating women’s circles and retreats, as well as now training over forty women in circle leadership. Your Divine Plan - Discovering God's Plan for Your Life
Instructor: Rev. Stacy Goforth
Meetings: 2 Tuesday Meetings
Dates: October 29th, 2019 through November 5th, 2019
Time: 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM EST
Format: Live Online
Audience: World AWAKE members and extended community who are seeking direction for their lives.
Description: For anyone on a spiritual path, the most often asked questions are usually "What am I supposed to do with my life?" or "What is my purpose for this life?" If you've ever pondered these questions, a thorough review of who you are; your experiences, passions, influencers, personality and spiritual gifts, can help you step back and look at your life from a more objective perspective, and may give you the insights you are seeking.
Your Divine Plan is a program that I created while serving as a lay leader in the United Methodist Church several years ago to address this issue. Using the Christian scriptures, I researched and defined thirty-three spiritual gifts, developed an assessment tool, as well as worksheets to help participants review who they are and to help them discover where God may be leading them. The accompanying workbook leads you through each exercise, explains spiritual gifts, and helps identify patterns in your life that you may not have noticed. We also cover some of the barriers and obstacles that prevent us from stepping into our plan, and provide encouragement to overcome them.
In the first session, we will review the workbook, discuss spiritual gifts and the exercises, and create a plan for completing the workbook. In the second session, we will review your experiences as you completed the workbook, answer questions, review the things that hold us back and discuss methods for overcoming them. We will also meditate and dedicate ourselves to service.
Goals:
  • Gain a better understanding of who you are
  • Understand how God chooses and equips you for your purpose
  • Enhance self-esteem
  • Discover more focus and motivation
  • Experience the love, peace and joy that knowing your plan brings
  • Learn how you can help and understand others more effectively
  • Identify your spiritual gifts through a discovery inventory
  • Develop a closer relationship with God
  • Affirm and celebrate your Divine Plan
Fee: $100.00

Time: 2:30 PM - 4:30 pm EST

Description: Come and walk in the footsteps of Jesus and experience the full embodiment of the Christ. You'll be encouraged to take the prayer, line by line, into a daily practice in order to experience the full impact and transformational essence of the Aramaic language itself. By the end of the course, you'll be able to recite the prayer in Aramaic and, as a culminating activity of the study, be invited to write your own version of the prayer reflective of the deeper meanings and as a result of having chanted the prayer in Aramaic in daily practice. Disclaimer! This study will not leave you where you began! As a lovely nun said to me after just a day-long workshop on the prayer in Aramaic, "I've been saying this prayer everyday for over 35 years. I will never say it in the same way again." Ummmmmmm…
Goals: By the end of the course, you'll be able to recite the prayer in Aramaic and, as a culminating activity of the study, be invited to write your own version of the prayer reflective of the deeper meanings and as a result of having chanted the prayer in Aramaic in daily practice.

Time: All day
Format: On Site
Audience: All are welcomed
Description: At the heart of our yearning, our Beloved waits to join us in mystical unity. The culmination will be the revised and updated edition of the current Doorway to the Sacred: Transform Your Life with Mantra Prayer, under new title, Lovers in the Wilderness: Discover Your Path to Mystical Unity with Mantra Prayer, due to my publisher in June. Each week, we'll reference sections from Doorway to the Sacred and explore the new excerpts and sections I'm including. Along the way, you'll be invited to share your own stories and be invited to include them in the final draft should you be so inclined. Energy Healing Sessions
Instructor: Rev. Susanna Stefanachi Macomb
Meetings: One on one session
Date: By Appointment from February 1st, 2020 through March 31st, 2020
Time: One Hour
Format: On Demand
Audience: World Wide
Description: One on One Energy Attunement Sessions for Healing, Transformation and Manifestation

In a gentle and compassionate atmosphere, we attune to your energy body. Attuned to your energy, I guide you every step of the way. We begin with a prayer invocation that the session be for your deepest and greatest good. We ask that we become pure vessels of the Divine. Your intentions are then made to the Universe. Your Soul, the part of you that is One with Source, leads the way. Energy blocks and congestions will reveal themselves. These blocks may be the result of trauma, fear, unproductive emotional or mental blocks. Your Soul brings them up to be acknowledged and cleared. Physical ailments need to be addressed by medical professionals. However, there is a spiritual component of disease that can be released energetically. Once your energy is flowing unobstructed, you become a shaft of light --- your true self. From this place, vibrancy, creativity and love flow freely. From this place we align to new more productive energy patterns --- more nurturing relationships, more fulfilling work, a more peaceful existence, greater health. As you raise your spiritual vibration you come more fully into the path of your being. A commitment to living life from who you really are creates the life that is authentically you, the life you are meant to live. Mystical experiences and ascension to higher dimensions of consciousness may occur.

Rev. Susanna Stefanachi Macomb has been teaching meditation and guiding energy sessions for 35 years. She serves as a bridge in times of change, loss, grief and illness. She has been instrumental in helping others experience mystical levels of consciousness. It is this inner work that led her to leave our corporate life thus transforming her life. She also credits this attunement in guiding her to create her own medical protocol to complete healing of Crohn's Disease and Cancer --- and transforming sickness into blessing.

Needed: All you need is a cell phone and earphones! I ask that you lay down in a comfortable quiet place in your home with your eyes closed, and I will do the same. We will speak first so that your intentions are best served. My cell number is 917-856-0422. My email is revsusannamacomb@gmail.com Feel free to call or email me if you have any questions.

For more information about me and my work, please visit: (DaoCloud.com is a Wellness Site.)

Payment may also be made by check, allowing two weeks to clear, to Rev. Susanna Stefanachi Macomb. (Address will be provided on request.)
Goals: Will donate back 30 dollars for each energy session to World Awake.

If a World AWAKE member wants more than one session during the two month time period, I will donate accordingly, of course.

Shamanic practice awakens us to our unity with all of life – both the life we know through our senses as well as the life just beyond the veil. It is a profound practice, beautiful beyond measure.
We will engage the Shamanic practice as handed down through the lineage of Michael Harner and Sandra Ingerman. For the ecstatic postures, we will draw on the work of anthropologist Felicitas Goodman that was later documented for practice by long-time student Belinda Gore.

Wedding Intensive: The Art of Marriage Ceremonies
Instructor: Rev. Susanna Stefanachi Macomb
Meetings: 3 Thursday Meetings
Dates: July 23rd, 2020 through August 6th, 2020
Time: 6:30PM - 9:30PM EST
Format: Live Online
Audience: All welcome
Description: Weddings are likely the most common form of ceremony that Interfaith Ministers perform. This is an in- depth intensive for planning, creating and performing various types of wedding ceremonies from both a spiritual and practical perspective. The art of of a truly memorable ceremony requires knowledge and presence. Moreover, it must be a love story!

Additional information about the Wedding Intensive is available in the YouTube video.

Goals: At the end of the intensive, students will:
  • Have an expanded understanding of ceremony in general with an emphasis on weddings as ceremony.
  • Know how to script a wedding (through homework/prep and inclass activities).
  • Understand the importance of, and have tools for being, present (i.e., grounding before ceremony, presence during ceremony, invoking the Divine, radiating the light of love).
  • Be able to work with couples in terms of preparing the wedding, dealing with issues that may arise, and possible future interactions (interfaith and spiritual counseling. house blessings, baby blessings, funerals etc.).
  • Learn special personal touches that make a ceremony truly memorable for decades to come, many of which Susanna has personally developed over 24 years of ministry.
  • Have a better understanding of how to work with Interfaith, Intercultural marriage situations and sensitivities.
  • Have an overview of popular wedding rituals, their meaning and significance.
  • Have a clear understanding of practicalities involved.
  • Discussion of licensing and spiritual marriage certificates.
  • Have an understanding of what is involved regarding performing Out-of-State Weddings.
  • Have an understanding of how to perform Zoom weddings.
Other: Homework:
  • Read Joining Hands and Hearts: Interfaith, Intercultural Wedding Celebrations: A Practical Guide for Couples (Simon & Schuster)
  • You will be given an assignment to write a complete ceremony for a given situation. Each student will be given a different scenario.
  • An interview: Find a couple you know— they could be dating or already married—and interview them. The goal is to hear their love story so you can custom create their ceremony. Refer to the questionnaire on pages 36-28 of Joining Hands and Hearts.
  • Do the following for your specific couple/situation:
  • Write the ceremony (Procession to Recession) for a couple with the backgrounds of your assigned scenario. This must be done at least two days before the third class and sent to Rev. Susanna via email.
  • Take the results of your personal interview of the dating or married couple (using the personal elements from the questionnaire in Rev. Susanna's book) and write the more personal parts of the ceremony – opening words, words to couple, honoring family (if they choose to include the latter in their ceremony). In other words, when writing the ceremony, you are to speak from what you learned about the couple, interlacing those words as you see fit. In this way, when you speak, you can better speak to the couple's hearts, reflecting the beauty of the couple – who they are and what they believe. Again, this must be done before the third class and sent to Rev. Susanna via email.
  • Students will receive copies of all the participants' written weddings for future reference.
  • Students may contact Susanna with any questions when performing their first wedding ceremony.
  • All Faiths Seminary International will confer upon the student/participant a certificate for completing the elective.

Breakdown of the three classes:
Class 1 (July 23rd) will cover: We begin with meditation, prayer and invocation. This first class covers how to interview a couple, collaborate with and prepare a couple, how to prepare and perform the ceremony, licensing requirements and procedures, spiritual certificates, various types of ceremonies, spiritual and interfaith counseling during the wedding process, issues that may arise as well as the importance of spirituality and practicality. Question and Answer to follow.

Class 2 (July 30th) will cover : The art of ceremony, a review of universal and faith traditions from around the world—their beauty, meaning and significance, commonality and differences, the power of speaking from the heart, making it a love story, how to inspire and uplift, important personal touches. Question and Answer to follow.

Class 3 (August 6th) will cover: Performance day! Students will perform aspects of the ceremony that they have written. Discussion to follow. The session ends with Rev. Susanna personally bestowing a blessing upon the participants and their future ceremonies and services. We ask all students to be present for this 3rd class.

A note from Rev. Susanna: If we do our job right, we serve as a sacred mirror, reflecting all that is good, beautiful and Divine back to those we serve. Our hope, aim and prayer is that the participants leave basking in the light of love, which is the light of God. In a wedding, it is reflected through the light of the couple – and that day is a reflection of God's light.
If there is anything in particular a student would like me to address during our intensive, or should you have a question, feel free to contact me directly before the class.

Looking forward to connecting with you, heart to heart,

Baby Blessing Ceremonies Intensive
Instructor: Rev. Susanna Stefanachi Macomb
Meetings: 3 Thursday Meetings
Dates: October 15th, 2020 through October 29th, 2020
Time: 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm EST
Format: AFSI Certificate Workshop
Audience: Ordained Clergy
Description: "A child enters into our midst, and face to face, hand to hand with this tiny perfect creation, we are compelled to whisper, "It's a miracle!" In this child we see infinite potential and we place our greatest hopes." (Susanna Macomb, Bless this Child)
In baby blessing ceremonies we celebrate the miracle and gift that is a child. We acknowledge each child as a unique manifestation of the Divine. We give thanks. We pray for them. We welcome them into our spiritual community, into this mystical union of souls on earth. We also celebrate the love of family as a blessing and reflection of the Divine.
Babies bring us back to who we really are, to innocence, purity and glee. There is so much God in a baby! Of all the ceremonies a minister performs, baby blessings may be the most joyous.
Macomb's book, Bless This Child, is the most comprehensive guide to creating interfaith baby blessings ceremonies in existence. Over her 24 years of ministry, the author has created and performed 1000+ personalized heartfelt baby blessing ceremonies reflecting the beliefs and needs of each individual family. The results are often extraordinary. These ceremonies may be interfaith, same-faith, spiritual, humanist or non-denominational in nature---or a combination thereof. They often contain religious rituals and prayers done in more universal and inclusive ways. The author has culled from the best of the world's time-honored rituals, blessings, prayers and readings and combined them with new traditions---many she has developed herself. She offers tender counsel for the interfaith family, and helps them navigate sensitive religious and family issues. Her families have called her many things, "a pastor without walls", "Revve" (by Christian-Jewish families) and "the love minister." The learning methodology will include reading, research, lecture/discussion, question and answer, homework and participatory activities.
Goals: At the end of the intensive, students will:
  • Have an expanded understanding of baby blessing ceremonies of all types---namings, baptisms, dedications and welcoming birth celebrations
  • Know how to script a baby blessing ceremony (through homework/prep and in-class activities).
  • Understand the importance of, and have tools for being present (i.e., grounding before ceremony, presence during ceremony, invoking the Divine, radiating the light of love).
  • Be able to work with families in terms of preparing the baby blessing, dealing with issues and questions that may arise.
  • Learn special personal touches that make a ceremony truly memorable for decades to come, many of which Susanna has personally developed over 24 years of ministry.
  • Have a better understanding of how to work with Interfaith, Intercultural family situations and sensitivities. How to help families sensitive interfaith issues.
  • Have an overview of popular baby blessings rituals that span the globe, their meaning and significance. (Macomb is a harvester of the world's traditions---rituals, prayers, readings, quotes and blessings.)
  • Have a clear understanding of practicalities involved.
  • Discussion of baby blessing, naming and baptismal certificates, as well as physical elements needed for the ceremony.
  • Planting the seeds for possible future ceremonies i.e. coming of age ceremonies, house blessings etc.
Other: Reverend Susanna Stefanachi Macomb was ordained by The New Seminary founded by Rabbi Joseph Gelberman in February 1996 and received her Masters of Divinity with All Faiths Seminary International in 2002. Time: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM Central Time
Format: Live Online
Audience: All
Description: We have become a world of people who believe all of us are separate and disconnected from one another, including the natural world.

My diverse and extensive training in circle participation and leadership for twenty years has led me to offer this training for others so that circles can continue to unfold, like each ripple on a pond that waves and ebbs out to the edge. We can build and expand the circles to invite the flow of transformation in an unending energetic pond of wise women AND men, as we practice new paradigm leadership skills of compassion, respect, acceptance and love.

Who can take this training? It is not necessary to have any experience or a particular background. The information and techniques can be used by coaches, ministers, therapists, healers, group leaders, community activists, board members, people who volunteer, those who want to increase their communication skills, women who find that people share easily with them…
any person who has an open heart.

Spiritual Attunement Healing Circle
Instructor: Rev. Susanna Stefanachi Macomb
Meetings: 1 Monday Meeting
Date: November 30th, 2020
Time: 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm EST
Format: Live Online
Audience: Everyone welcome
Description: In this time of Covid, it is ever more imperative that we go inward and spiritually attune. We begin with prayer, asking that we become clear channels of the Divine for our deepest and greatest good. Aligned with Source, individual issues and blockages come up to be healed and released. Vibrancy increases. Joy increases. Seated at the Seat of the Soul, there is greater clarity. Answers come and we better align to our mission upon this earth. Each participant takes a place at the center of the circle and receives individualized healing from the group. "Where two or more are gathered in my name, there I AM." There is power in the circle. The results are often transformational. The more this is practiced in one's life, awareness shifts. We become the witness. Aliveness and inner peace are the result. Depending on attunement of the group, this can lead to the exploration of the higher realms of cosmic consciousness.
We ask participants to come with an intention of what they wish to healed, transformed or manifested in their lives. Please bring a note book and pen.
Optional: After this first circle, if you wish to learn energy healing and spiritual attunement for yourself and others, we will arrange a series of classes that will lead to certification. Anyone who completes six 3 hours sessions, for a total of 18 hours, a certificate of Level One of Spiritual Attunement and Energy Healing will be given by AFSI .
Reviews posted on DaoCloud.com, a wellness site:
There are a lot of "spiritual leaders," "energy healers," and "motivational gurus" out there now-a-days. They have become as ubiquitous as Starbucks. However, I can attest to the fact that Reverend Susanna Stefanachi Macomb is the real deal. I have known her now for fifteen plus years; she is the most genuine, grounded, tapped-in, tuned-in person I have ever met. Simply being in her presence changes you; you cannot be in close proximity of her without witnessing her grace and feeling her light. Each time I meet with her, I leave feeling lifted and peaceful. Then, in 2016, my partner of 31 years passed away. My grief felt so insurmountable, there were days I thought I was going to spontaneously combust. However, Reverend Susanna was incredibly instrumental in helping me to heal. Whether it be a meditation session, counseling, energy work or those simple gems of wisdom that she drops, she always seems to know exactly what you need to heal your soul and feed your spirit. And she does it all with love, humor and incredible compassion. -Melissa Maxwell
Not only is Susanna an extraordinarily intuitive, wise, and empathetic human being, she has been a powerful guide in helping me find my inner healer. When I was facing some very serious health issues, Susanna taught me how to meditate and starting from that first extremely powerful meditation, I began to evolve and was able to make some wise, lifesaving decisions. I have carried meditation into my everyday life and believe I am living a more balanced, peaceful life because of this practice. When I think of the people that have been blessings in my life, Susanna is at the top of the list. I've never encountered another human being with a more powerful connection to spirit. -Janie Fink
Empowering! Rev. Susanna's Energy Session is a beautiful therapeutic service. Her extensive experience in practice has allowed her to develop an empowering energy session with a holistic and spiritual approach. She creates an environment which enhances calm, relaxation, and balance of mind, body, and spirit. Her unique understanding of healing energy and technique encourages the release of energy blocks towards abundance and honor of higher self. Her session increases flourishing, energetic health, human connectivity and so much more. If you already feel good, Rev. Susanna can make you feel even better. Following our session, I felt even more vibrant, energized, full of life, with deeper feelings of positivity, gratitude, connectivity, and overall well-being. Rev. Susanna's session created a profound energetic shift and helped me gain clarity towards next steps on my life's journey. Thank you, Rev. Susanna! -Christine Paul
I have known Rev. Susanna Stefanachi Macomb for 24 years. She is hands down the most compassionate, intuitive, and spiritual person I have ever known and worked with. I have gone to Susanna during times in my life when I needed more clarity about my life's purpose (whether it be general, career or relationship), to learn how to meditate, and most recently to help me deal with the grief over my daughter's suicide. Her guided meditations are clear, purposeful and spiritual. I say this because everything about Rev. Susanna is spiritual - it's who she is - and yet she is also super practical with a pundit's knowledge of theology, of philosophy, poetry and art. The energy healing sessions I have done with Susanna have been transformational - I always feel safe and supported in her care - which is extremely important to me --after all, the hands you place yourself in is very telling, and trust must be at the core if any healing is to take place. I can say unequivocally that Rev. Susanna has her clients' best interests at heart. She is gentle, powerful, grounded and funny and makes you feel instantly comfortable. She also radiates - literally. What I love most about Rev. Susanna is that she seeks the light and the 'good' in everything she does. She always asks/prays that the outcomes that one is looking for is aligned with a greater good and it is this intention/assurance that sets me free to do the deep work that is required. I cannot say enough about Reverend Susanna Stefanachi Macomb -- I am grateful that she is in my life. -Marla Mase

To explore the body as the temple of God, I'll guide you in simple movements adopted from some of our favorite circle dances. No dance experience necessary or a large space needed. Zen Play (Making Your Life Into A Zen Koan)
Instructor: Dr Brenda Shoshanna
Meetings: 1 Thursday Meeting
Date: May 20th, 2021
Time: 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. EST
Format: Live Online
Audience: Clergy, Caretakers
Description: Life Is Not A Problem To Solve, But A Wonderful Adventure To Enjoy

In this workshop, we turn our life problem into a Zen Koan, and discover an entirely new way of engaging with it.

Like koans, life presents inscrutable challenges that are impossible to figure out. They cannot be solved rationally, and yet a response must be made. In the workshop we turn our koans, (problems) into little plays and act out each role in it. As we stop trying to figure things out, rejecting certain parts, or trying to control the outcome, we no longer twist ourselves into knots. Instead, things become enjoyable as we experience the situation from every point of view. Not only do new possibilities then arise by themselves, but conflict and struggle melt away. And we become able to enjoy whatever life brings.
Goals: A brand new way of engaging with our problems which is life giving, enjoyable and opens the door to new possibilities an entirely new vistas in our lives.
Other: Koans are such enjoyable and powerful medicine, they must not be ignored. These ancient questions from Zen practice hold a key to transforming suffering and seeing life with new eyes.

Instructor: Rev. Dr. Stephanie Rutt
Meetings: 1 Sunday Meeting
Date: November 14th, 2021
Time: 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM EST
Format: Live Online
Audience: All seekers
Description: We will chant, dance, journal, meditate, journey and share together into a deeper part of ourselves where a quiet wonder may find us. As Thanksgiving is quickly approaching, I thought we'd explore "The Heart of Gratitude." It's one of my favorite topics as it shifts our perspective into the remembrance that we're truly here to be the bounty. And in those moments of remembrance, we remember that even the smallest act of kindness can shift the whole world for another - and what shifts one in our collective body, shifts us all. The picture offered here is the latest creation from voices in nature wanting to come together to create a not-so-silent chorus. And so can we. As we each bring something unique and lovely to our collective body, that quiet wonder, that chorus, can finally be heard. And we are glad.
Goals: To remember the wonder percolating within us
To experience the sweet chorus of community
Fee: $35.00

It’s that still small voice that calls up the fairies.
Dr. George Washington Carver

Some of you may remember the late George Washington Carver as a great agricultural scientist and inventor whose work spanned the early part of the 20th century. A black man, who lived a good deal of his life in the south, he was deeply committed to his Christian roots. However, few know of his deeply spiritual nature and how he could, quite effortlessly, see into the soul of things. Even peanuts, and, of course, flowers.

Join me for an online, fun, inspirational, experiential workshop where we’ll explore just how he could, and so can we, see into the soul of things. And we’ll delight in the three keys he named as being essential to hearing that still small voice that calls up the fairies ... again and again. Prepare to be ahhhh-mazed!!

Time: 10:00 am - 11:15 am Pacific
Format: Live Online
Audience: All
Description: What does a spiritual person do with all the "negative" emotions, such as anger, fear, anxiety, and despair? Is it bad to have them? Does it mean that your meditations, yoga practice, or prayers are a failure?

No, you're not bad or a failure for having challenging emotions such as these – you're human! But it takes a particular spiritual skill set to move through them with some grace rather than resistance, shutting down, blowing up, or falling apart. It's not about getting rid of uncomfortable emotions; it's about transforming your relationship to them.
Goals: In this FREE 1.25 hour class you'll learn:

Why "negative" emotions got such a bad rap in the spiritual community

The "driver" of undesirable emotions (it's not the emotion itself!)

3 spiritual foundations that help you identify your relationship to those emotions and shift your experience of them

A couple simple practices to respond to emotions with more ease and grace and plenty of time for questions and sharing in sacred community!
Other: This event will be recorded for you to listen to again afterwards.

Please bring a journal and pen.

Those working towards Recognition as a Pastoral Care Specialist need thirty hours of group supervision and consultation with at least one hour of Individual Supervision with a Written Case Presentation.
Goals: The First Monday training program is an opportunity for persons to both grow in knowledge and train towards recognition in the area of spiritual care and counseling. Usually held on the First Monday of each month, mornings will be a theory seminar and afternoons will be both a consultation and supervision opportunity (the afternoons will be taped). Topics to be included are brief-term, supportive counseling methods, crisis intervention, grief and loss, divorce recovery, pastoral diagnosis, referral, and the application of pastoral care principals in the broader functions of ministry.

Any pastor or lay person in the Indiana Conference is welcomed to participate in this experience. Persons who are not United Methodists from Indiana are welcomed but will be required to register at a higher fee (see registration material below). This program was recognized as a Category 1 Training Center with the American Association of Pastoral Counselors and could be used in seeking the Spiritual Care Specialist with AAPC, a national recognition requiring a minimum of fifty contact hours of training and supervision. AAPC has now transitioned into one section of ACPE: the Standard for Spiritual Care and Education. Completion of the Pastoral Care Specialist is through First Monday. Pastoral Care Specialists may apply to APCE for recognition as Practitioners. The Essene Tree of Life
Instructor: Rev. Linda Goodman
Meetings: 10 Tuesday Meetings
Dates: September 20th, 2022 through November 22nd, 2022
Time: 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM EDT
Format: Live Online
Audience: Any curious seeker
Description: Description: The ancient Essenes were a sect of Judaism that chose to live in the desert, away from cities and the Temples that they considered corrupt. They believed in a personal relationship with God, without the need of a special priest class. They lived communally, with complete equality between women and men. They believed they were chosen to bring the Christ consciousness to earth. Mary and Joseph, Jesus, John the Baptist, and Mary Magdalene were members of this sect.

The Essene Tree of Life offers a framework for daily practices that incorporate both the Divine Mother and Divine Father. The roots represent the 7 elements of Mother Earth and the branches represent the Father God in 7 angelic aspects. Each day's morning practice focuses on one cosmic element branch and the evening practice focuses on the corresponding earthly root element. The weekly and seasonal rotation of practices provides a path to spiritual balance and peace.

Goals: Those seeking a pattern of spiritual practices in alignment with the wheel of the year will benefit from this class.

Prerequisites: None

Classroom/Facility: Hybrid Zoom/In person Amherst NH

Tuition: $100 Please don't let tuition cost keep you away. Contact Rev. Linda for full or partial scholarship.

Reclaim the Ecstatic Cry!
Instructor: Rev. Dr. Stephanie Rutt
Meetings: 8 Tuesday Evening Meetings
Dates: September 27th, 2022 through November 15th, 2022
Time: 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM EST
Format: Live Online
Audience: All seekers
Description: Imagine with me . . . sitting on a hill far away, over two thousand years ago, listening to a man called Jesus when someone asked, "Lord, teach us to pray." And he answered, in Aramaic, with what we know today as the Lord's Prayer. On this 8–week journey, we'll go back together to hear the original words for ourselves and, in doing so, reach new depths of understanding and receive the true essence of Jesus' message.

But disclaimer! This is only the beginning! For just as the early disciples discovered, reciting the Lord's Prayer in Aramaic ignites a spark—a spark that awakens a remembrance of our innate divinity as children of the living God. And as this remembrance begins to resound in the silent chambers of our heart, the prayer begins to inform every aspect of daily life. Nothing is the same. We've been set afire by love everlasting and left undone and now can only release our own involuntary, ecstatic cry. This is what it means to pray! So, on this special journey through the prayer in Aramaic, prepare to be surprised, delighted and, perhaps, even challenged. As one nun of over thirty years exclaimed after one workshop, "I've said the Our Father every day for over thirty years. And, now, I'll never say it the same way again!"

This workshop is based on my book, Living the Prayer of Jesus: A Study of the Lord's Prayer in Aramaic (available on Amazon). Recommended but not required as I'll be providing supplemental handouts. Each week, you'll learn a line of the prayer and we'll use suggested questions for reflection to guide our sharing. You'll also enjoy access to audio teaching recordings of the prayer to use as you may desire.

Come and re-discover the prayer of Jesus.
Just perhaps, the prayer will leave you not where you began—joyously exclaiming your own ecstatic cry!
Goals: Explore how studying the Lord's Prayer in Aramaic expands meanings, understanding and awareness of this beloved prayer...and how it does, indeed, awaken the ecstatic cry within!
Fee: $75.00

Circle Facilitation Training
Instructor: Christine Moses, MS
Meetings: 3 Meetings
Date: October 20th, 25th and November 1st
Time: 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm CST
Format: Live Online
Audience: All
Description: We have become a world of people who believe all of us are separate and disconnected from one another, including the natural world.
It is a profoundly important time for circles to expand and tip those scales. My diverse and extensive training in circle participation and leadership for twenty-two years has led me to offer this training for others so that circles can continue to unfold, like each ripple on a pond that waves and ebbs out to the edge.
This training will provide:
• Forming the Circle – who, what, when, where, why
• Opening and Closing Ideas
• Rituals and Ceremony
• Intention, Purpose and Outcomes
• Guidelines and Challenges
• Experiential Offerings and Exercises
• Marketing Tools
• Time for questions and answers at the end of each session
Goals: To provide training information and resources on creating, organizing, and facilitating circles.
Other: BIO: Christine Moses is a Holistic Counselor, Shamanic Practitioner, and Ceremonialist, specializing in facilitating women's circles and retreats, as well as now training over eighty women in circle leadership. Christine holds a Master of Science in Holistic Ministries, is also a Reiki Master, Ordained Interfaith Minister and author. Her book The Wisdom of Circles: Gathering Women for Conscious Community is a combination of her personal journey and healing story, a training guide, and an empowering inspiration.
